Some basic rules to ensure a friendly chat environment for us all:

• The channel is about the aurora phenomenon and everything associated with it. Please stay on topic as much as possible.
• This is an international chat, please be courteous to the other channel members, therefore use English in the channel. You can always resort to private messaging if you want to discuss something in your native language.
• Discussions are good, however, offensive comments and unnecessary language are not.
• Please do not repeat the same questions over and over. And please ensure they are not answered in our FAQ.
• The use of the channel is a privilege and not a right, the channel operators are entitled to enforce anything they see fit to keep the channel an orderly place for us all to enjoy. In extreme cases, this may include removal of people interupting the chat in a disorderly manner.
• Do not abuse the services provided in the channel. Public data services such as "data" is only updated once every 3 minutes, there is no need to use it once a minute.
• Do not spam. If you have a nice site or anything else, and you like to mention it, that will be ok, but blatant and continuous spamming is not allowed.
• Do not flood the channel with unnecessary text.
• The most important rule of all: use common sense and please treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.
